Educational Trip in Shizuoka

Shizuoka U Travel believes experiencing different cultures can become a valuable part of students' lives. By experiencing different cultures, they gain insights that they cannot obtain in their own surroundings. This can help them to respect others while also valuing themselves. The founder of Shizuoka U Travel has more than 10-year teaching experience at school,  and is passionate about helping students learn about other cultures to broaden their perspectives. She has taken students abroad for homestay programs, and also worked with school groups from overseas. From the perspective of a teacher, we are dedicated to planning a memorable school trip for students. We would be happy to assist teachers around the world in making their students' learning experiences even better.

Reasons for Holding the School Trip in Shizuoka

Easy Access from Tokyo

Shizuoka City is located about 300 km away from Tokyo. It takes about one hour to travel from Tokyo Station to Shizuoka Station by Shinkansen. After arriving in Tokyo by plane, it is not very difficult to come and stay in Shizuoka as a base for your trip. Kyoto is about two hours away by Shinkansen, so Shizuoka is also an ideal stopover on the way from Tokyo to Kyoto.

Warm and Calm Climate and Atmosphere

Shizuoka City is rich in nature, surrounded by mountains and sea. In summer, it is hot and humid like other regions, but in winter, there are many sunny days, and it rarely snows. Affected by such an environment, many local people are relaxed and easygoing. Students can enjoy an educational trip in a calm and relaxed atmosphere.

Perfect for Learning Japanese Culture with Historical Sites and World Heritage

Shizuoka City and its nearby areas are connected to the legacy of Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. You can find historical sites from the Edo period related to him, such as Kunozan Toshogu Shrine and Sumpu Castle Park. Also, Mt. Fuji was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013, titled "Fujisan, sacred place and source of artistic inspiration." In Shizuoka, you can not only see Mt. Fuji but also visit its UNESCO World Heritage component sites. For example, you can explore Miho-no-Matsubara (Mino Pine Grove & Beach, Shiraito Falls, and Fujisan Hongu Sengen Shrine.

Perfect for Learning about Japanese Traditional Culture

Shizuoka has some facilities to experience and learn Japanese Traditional Culture. Especially, Shizuoka is famous for its green tea, so tea-picking experiences and tea-making lessons are popular. Shizuoka is also known as a place where traditional crafts and techniques have developed. We can arrange various workshops as well. Inquiries regarding school visits are also welcomed. (Please understand that there may be times when we cannot find a host school depending on the school schedule of the year.)
