Mount Fuji, Tea Farms, Shrine & Sake: A Cultural Heritage Journey

Explore Japan's iconic regions, just 30-40 minutes from Shizuoka, with stunning views of Mount Fuji, lush green tea farms, and a historic shrine. Discover sake-making, newly recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2024! Experience Japan's rich culture, nature, and traditions on this unforgettable tour.

1. Meet at Shizuoka Station. Take a 1-hour train and taxi ride to a green tea plantation with Mount Fuji in the background. Shizuoka is Japan’s leading producer of green tea. Enjoy a relaxing walk, take stunning photos, and learn about Japanese green tea in this peaceful, scenic setting.

2. Take a taxi to Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine, a historic site dedicated to Mount Fuji and part of its UNESCO World Heritage designation. Over 1,300 years old, the shrine holds great cultural significance. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom, offering a peaceful place for reflection and photos.

3. Enjoy a local meal at shops around the shrine. Fujinomiya yakisoba (fried noodles) is a local favorite. Made with thick, chewy noodles and a unique sauce, it won first place in a "local gourmet food competition" across Japan in 2006, making it famous as a delicious, affordable dish.

4. Walk down the street to a sake brewery. Sake-making was recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2024. This area is famous for high-quality sake made from Mount Fuji’s pure spring water. Visit the brewery, learn about the brewing process, and enjoy a sake tasting experience.

5. Take a bus and an express train back to Shizuoka Station.
