Shizuoka U Travel is a local travel agency based in Shizuoka City, Japan, founded by a National Government Guide Interpreter and professional language teacher. I offer tours that explore Shizuoka City and its surrounding areas. As an experienced English-speaking guide, I’ll help you discover the unique history and culture of the region, making your experience both enjoyable and informative.

My goal is to provide a highly customer-focused service, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout your journey. I also hope to introduce more people to the beauty of the area, contributing to its continued growth and recognition.

Hello, there! I'm Akane. I'm a founder of Shizuoka U Travel.

I was born and raised in Shizuoka City, watching the majestic Mt. Fuji. I have always loved traveling and learning different languages and cultures. Through my experiences living in different places, including Kyoto and Australia, and meeting people around the world, I have come to appreciate the charms of Japan and my hometown Shizuoka even more. This passion for sharing the attractions of Japan, especially Shizuoka, and enhancing the community led me to become a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter and a local travel agent.

I used to work for a nationwide travel company as a tour consultant. I enjoyed creating tours for customers and always took pleasure in hearing how wonderful their experiences were. Now, I can join my guests on tours, which I couldn't do before, and this brings me great joy.

Also, I have over 10 years of teaching experience in schools and have worked with overseas school groups. Additionally, I have taken students abroad for homestay programs as a teacher escort. I believe that experiencing different cultures can become a valuable part of students' lives, as well as for people of all ages. I am always passionate about creating memorable trips for them.

Shizuoka is not as urban as Tokyo, but it is rich in nature, surrounded by the sea and mountains. It also has historic sites, as well as delicious specialties. I always try to make a friendly and warm atmosphere on my tours. I hope you relax and enjoy discovering all the wonderful things Shizuoka has to offer with me.
