Have you ever seen pictures or household goods featuring Mount Fuji with pine trees? This is the place where you can find that iconic scenery!
Miho no Matsubara (Miho Pine Grove & Beach) is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Mt. Fuji - Fujisan, sacred place and source of artistic inspiration." The pine grove is associated with Miho Shrine and is believed to be the entrance to the sacred world.
There are 30,000 pine trees stretching over 7 kilometers, some of which are over 300 years old. Standing on the beach, you can enjoy a majestic view of Mount Fuji beyond the trees, weather permitting. Across Suruga Bay lies the Izu Peninsula, offering another refreshing and scenic view.
Here is another one of my favorite spots that I’m proud to have been born in Shizuoka. It would be my great pleasure to show it to you someday!
